SEJ: “If Google can manage to put up website explaining their search ad deal with Yahoo, Yahoo for its part can only manage to make a post at the company’s blog, explaining what’s in it for Yahoo and how it is going to affect the search ad market. But the post nonetheless was made by Yahoo’s President Sue Decker who said that it’s now time for them to write some myth-busting explanation.”
ATD: “That’s all resulted in more Justice Department scrutiny, more critics piling on, including the typically dulcet Canadians, who might also be launching an antitrust investigation. … But, at the very least, Decker is being honest that Yahoo has come up short and needs help, as it tries to right itself. – Admitting you have a problem, of course, is the first step to recovery. So, let’s hope the cure Yahoo is using–better and more search ads from Google–does not kill it.”
Portfolio: “Antitrust regulators may or may not challenge the deal, but judging by the stridency of Decker’s post, it seems like she may feel a showdown with the government is inevitable.”
