Stump: “This week I gave notice to Digg that I’m going to be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.”
TC: “So what’s the new company? It’s Crash Corp., a ‘Alternate Reality Mobile Gaming’ startup. Their games will mix the real world with fictional story lines – expect the first title later this year on the iPhone. They’ll also build on other mobile platforms, Galligan says. … Stump has clearly been working on Crash Corp. for at least a few months. On March 14 he said in a now deleted blog post that the company would launch classic games against your friends on the iPhone using Facebook connect. It sounds like it has evolved significantly since then.”
Mashable: “Stump isn’t going it alone, however: he’s joining forces with SocialThing founder Matt Galligan, who at age 24 has already sold one company: in 2008 SocialThing was acquired by AOL and integrated into Bebo, AIM and other properties. Galligan announced today, via a video on his Facebook page, that he’ll be leaving AOL in two weeks to join the venture. He’ll take the CEO role at CrashCorp while Stump becomes its CTO.”
